Hailing from the current rock n' roll capital of the world, Helsinki, The Dash
is a 4-piece group consisting of old friends who realized their ability to create
one-of-a-kind musical pieces together.
Founded in 2003 by the groups main songwriters, Lauri Koski (vocals, piano) and
Jarkko Hassinen (bass, vocals), The Dash equals outstanding melodies, distorted riffs,
intriguing arrangements with overwhelmingly huge orchestrations and it's all done with
a take-no-prisoners attitude.
Without sounding inconsistent, their songs can turn in a matter of seconds from stunning
multilayered, Beach Boys-like vocal harmonies to an insane fuzzy riff-raff or to a
beatlesque trip on a strawberry field.
The distinctive and unique sound of The Dash can't really be compared to any existing
band, but their own influences come from bands such as The Beatles, Muse, Abba, Nine
Inch Nails, Tool and various bands that became famous in the early nineties under the
nametag "grunge".
For 5 years The Dash developed their sound by writing tons of songs, keeping only the
best ones and discarding the rest. Now, having completed recording in their most
wonderfully captivating debut album with producer Pekka Laine, The
Dash is ready to hit the road. You've been warned!
